About the event

Workshop Description: Menstrual cycles may be less taboo, but most of us still don't have much of a clue about what's going on with our cycles.

Why do I have painful cramps, strange cervical mucus or monthly wild emotional rides? I got diagnosed with PCOS - what does that mean? Doctors will tell us "pain is normal" or to "take pills or have surgery to suppress symptoms". But, most of these things can be dealt with in large part naturally. Moreso, the pharmaceutical products and surgeries usually come with large health consequences that are not discussed.

So if we can deal with our cycle health naturally, restore balance to our hormones and in the process win back the energy that we have lost from menstrual health issues, why isn't this information widely available? The multibillion industry that profits off you NOT having this information may play a role.

In this workshop, learn some basics about the anatomy & physiology of the uterus and its friends, what a healthy cycle looks like, what hormones play a role and what balance looks like, what different menstrual symptoms mean and how to stop bleeding out your energy every month. This workshop includes a vaginal steam, or foot bath as an alternative option. This workshop is intended to spread information that is your birthright and support you in reclaiming your health and energy for better things like social justice activism.

Instructor: Courtney Kirkby is an Arvigo Therapist, Mercier Therapist, Doula and works with menstrual charting. She has dedicated herself to understanding the uterus on the physical and energetic planes and supports folks in improving their cycles, in fertility and perinatality and with transitions into menopause. From menarche to menopause, you can always learn more about your cycle.

*This workshop uses gender neutral/inclusive language, and is open to all.

**This is one of three workshops. Select the workshop that best pertains to your stage of life/which aspect of reproductive health you are interested in learning about
